Meditation is an ancient practice where an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, to either realize some benefit or to simply acknowledge the mind’s content without associating with it or it is practices as an end in itself. Meditation is an act of detoxifying and strengthening the mind which in turn has a great impact on the overall physical and spiritual well-being of an individual. Health is not just confined to body and mind but it is also related to one’s consciousness. The clearer the consciousness, the better is the overall health and well-being of an individual.

In this fast-paced life where people are stressed, exhausted and hard-pressed for time, meditation is the need of the hour. In the morning, Meditation gets one focused and started on the right track. In the evening, it helps to unwind the mind after a rigorous day. Despite the vital nature of this practice we all face a great challenge to find the time and energy to meditate. On this note, one must remember that if one has time to breath then one has time to meditate. Meditation is not long winding, complex and tedious; it is a simple rudimentary practice. It is only called Meditation when it is effortless. One can mediate anywhere, anytime as long one is comfortable and is not in the middle of doing anything that may require alertness and concentration (like driving, playing a sport, cooking etc.).

There are various types of meditation, but when one is starting out it is best to have a progressive step-by-step approach. It is recommended to get the basics right before jumping into more advance techniques. One can benefit immensely from Meditation with regular practice and the benefits will be long-lasting.
